Shooting people using speedlights (flashguns) is my recent activity. If I ever took portaits it was usually outdoors or indoors with ambient light. The reason was quite simple: natural light is my comfort zone - I did it for years, I knew what to expect and what to do with my camera. Some time ago I wanted to move forward and enter new grounds and bought a nice dedicated flash gun for my camera in order to shoot portaits. Although bouncing light from a ceiling and walls was giving good results, it had its limitations as I wanted to have more control over posistion of the light and angles it was coming from. If you are a researcher, as I am, you probably already have done this and read loads of blogs or websites or flickr posts about flashes and models. I read more than I could care to count but I think I will give a credit to a few websites I like reading and learninig from. Maybe you too will find them useful:
